Eye of the Hurricane or Silence is Deceitful-2
When a hurricane ruins your world, you have no choice but to start all over from scratch. This process might take years. But for anyone who is watching that from far away, it may seem like a heartbreaking tragedy. However, I can tell you one of life's hidden secrets - destruction begets into the world youth and growth. You are the first drop of rain in a hurricane. If you have fire in your blood and a tornado in your bones, you shouldn't build a birdcage around yourself. In the blink of an eye, you will shatter that silly cage around your beautiful, carefree spirit. If you had the wind knocked out of you one day, you would better pick yourself up and decide to become the hurricane instead.
All of the above sounds more like poetry. My writing should not be considered as a manual to drive yourself crazy for no apparent reason.
A bit more about the work itself: this is one of several artworks that I conditionally call – jaws. The first one was a painting which I drew 30 or so years ago. Jaws are a symbol of danger, threat, and anxiety. I am not sure why I use this subject matter over the years. It is not like I have ever been prone to flashes of uncontrollable rage. However, this conceptual motif haunts me subconsciously for quite some time. Perhaps, it is an overcompensation of reality, or maybe just a reflection of some hard-rock music tracks. Or maybe, it is an echo of the category 5 Cape Verde hurricane, Irma, that I lived through in Naples, Florida 2017.
