Have you ever wondered what happens to the land if mankind abandons it? How it will slowly decay into its original form. The sharp corners of civilization will smooth over time; the recognizable shapes of progress will become indistinguishable from the mother earth's landscapes. Everything loses its meaning, from the human point of view, everything becomes alien and hostile.
I think that once you leave a place that you have lived in and have been attached to, leave it the fastest way possible. Never turn back and do not believe that an hour you remember is a better hour because it is dead. Passed years seem safe ones, vanquished ones, while the future lives in a cloud, formidable from a distance.
