Fairy Tree or Sensation of Sentient Misconception
The tree fairy name is conditional because it has little to do with the fantastic wood creatures. Some believe that fairies inhabit fairy trees. These trees are entryways, symbolic portals between our world and the fantasy ecosphere of spirit. The tree must be treated with care and respect if one does not want to disturb the fragile balance between one’s body and soul. According to the legends, those who break the magical bond would be punished severely for their indiscretions. The Perception from Sentient Misapprehension reference is a reminder of flora’s materialistic nature and the variety of spiritual impact it gives us.
This picture is an experimental work that was done to explore some of the new photomanipulation technics. I am not sure that I discovered anything new and exciting, but instead, once and again, the work moved me from its original purpose in an unexpected direction. This trickery happens almost every time with most of my artworks. Work starts as a specific vision or even a hint of vision or anticipation and then unravels into something surprising and unpredictable. I enjoy this curvy process. It makes me feel like I am on a journey with no final destination.
I prefer the imagery of dark tonality and somewhat majestically awe. However, this one dragged me in the opposite, much more positive and lighter direction. Imagine standing on a high viewpoint in front of a single tree. The tree leaves are moving slightly by the wind. The clouds behind the tree are continually stirring and changing the tree canopy contrast and brightness. All these movements make the tree crown image somewhat surrealistically elusive and unpredictable. It feels like somebody lives in the wood branches, moving and changing them constantly. It seems like the tree has its fairy personality. And the portrait it makes is somehow clear and deceptive simultaneously.
