The Final Frontier Voyager | mystical romantic neo-surrealism
The Final Frontier VoyagerMarine themes and sailboats loved dearly by the artist. The sea fascinates him. The tall ships are mesmerizing him. This painting is one of a cycle of his marine works. He does not ignore this mysterious topic. He gives freedom to his fantasies and imagination, shares his feelings. The painting conveys to the viewer anxiety, the stress of the ship, and the resistance of his team. The heavy dark sky and the smooth surface of the water uphold the feeling of hopelessness and doom. "Men have always been drawn to something distant, unknown, to something beyond the horizon. The thirst for discovery and new knowledge is indestructible, despite all the dangers and turns of this way. This work is dedicated to those who never stop on what has been achieved, and moves forward despite all the obstacles, prejudices and resistance. It is dedicated to those who believe their rightness, despite all its illusiveness. For those who stand alone against the whole world. I use in the title Society of Flat Earth as an example of human conviction, obsession that withstands any logic, facts or justification.“ George Grie 2006
The shape of the ship was inspired by the famous Canadian schooner Bluenose from Nova Scotia. The schooner won four times in International races and was nicknamed "The Queen of the North Atlantic". Schooners were represented by the Dutch in the 16th and 17th centuries as a type of sailing vessel and were extremely popular during the golden age of piracy. Mentally you can imagine yourself as a member of the crew of this schooner. Some certainly try to save themselves. But there are also those who peer and cannot take their eyes off the abyss opened before them. Atlantis men are holding the earth on their shoulders as a hint of another dimension of being. The ship as a living creature froze, frozen in front of this terrifying waterfall. There is a hope for his salvation - it is the wind. He fills the sails of the ship and "drives" it away from the terrible cliff. A flock of seabirds soars in a saving direction for all. While looking at this image, there is a desire to see the another work, with the rescued ship, where it floats along this perfectly smooth surface of water towards the horizon, away from this mystical terrible place.
What sounds plausible enough tonight, might be ludicrous tomorrow. Wait for the common sense of the morning. The flat earth theory, stating that the world is a flat disk rather than a sphere, was believed in by many cultures around the globe up to around the fourth century B.C. when philosophers and scientists came to the conclusion that the Earth was actually a sphere. But this was just a beginning of a centuries’ long debate. In fact, the flat-earth theory, tied to the geocentric cosmology of Ptolemy, dominated among clergymen and even navigators until the 16th century A.D. when Copernicus questioned the very essence of this dogma.
What prevents us from assuming that our world is just a "game of imagination" of some more developed consciousness? The consciousness of the planet creates it for a huge period of time. MULTIVITY - the property of space (time, person) to be more multi-faceted and to have additional layers of properties that we do not know. Going into multidimensional realities and operating with linear consciousness, accustomed to living in "here and now", we simply cannot describe them, and there are no stable forms and definitions in our understanding. It follows that, yes, the Earth is both flat and round at the same time, depending on what layer and in what state of consciousness it is considered. The space-time of our reality is not homogeneous, it has a mass of portals and is constantly distorted for one reason or another, which allows some people to perceive and realize (for many perceive, but not all realize) the strangeness of the planet's behavior.
