The anthropologies of Leiris and Bataille are both focused on the problematic nature of otherness - the hauntingly incomprehensible differences that can exist between mutually alien worlds. Such differences cannot be rationalized or intellectualized in Western terms: the scientific emphasis of anthropology was for them overtly ethnocentric, insensitive, and inadequate. Anthropologies that objectify, analyze and dissect humankind destroy its humanity. Through the dissolution of otherness and difference, anthropology demolishes the real value of the people it studies. For Leiris, cultures should be primarily experienced rather than rationally understood: he seeks an empathetic, moral and sensual experience.

The title of the image is a paraphrase of the famous - Creedence Clearwater Revival. So basically, it is all about music perception, finding your way in the cacophony of life, sounds, people, etc. The concept is – that we cannot see big pictures because we are looking for small ones.
The scene is built in 3d max entirely, the sky and ground textures generated by Terragen. There is very little Photoshop involvement there, the waterfalls and owls only.
